This sensor measures the force of wind and wind gusts up to a steady wind of 160MPH. Its response time is 0.1 seconds and has a resolution of 0.25MPH. It is used for measuring the forces on awnings, umbrellas, etc to determine when dangerous and catastrophic failure of the sheltering assembly is imminent so that appropriate mitigation actions can be taken.


This sensor measures the tension/compression forces in the structure to which the extensometer is attached. We are using the sensor topology to measure beam deflection for civil/industrial structural components, hull stresses in ships, crane loads, wire rope loads, and forces in landing struts for aircraft.
