HIGH ACCURACY, LOW CAPACITY WEIGHT SCALE

A single sensor scale capable of measuring 100gm’s X 0.1gm resolution. This scale can be overloaded by 100X of its fully rated capacity and it will still function within specifications once the overload condition has been removed. It is designed to be resistant to side loads and is constructed of a single piece of aluminum. The mechanical design of the deflecting portion of the scale is quite simple and very low cost. It works exceptionally well with our technology, yet this same design is virtually impossible to implement using state of the art strain gauge technology.

Four independent low profile load cells are used to measure the load carried by a waste bin. Each load cell is its own scale hence the weight measured by each cell is simply totaled for the total bin weight. There is no need for scale cornering, calibration, signal conditioning and processing as is the standard for strain gauge based scales. ON-BOARD VEHICLE WEIGHING SYSTEM AND SENSOR

This unique measuring sensor allows the driver to see the load weight carried by his vehicle by simply measuring the deflection of the chassis rails under the load condition using only a single sensor. This simple clamp-on sensor ( as shown here) and associated in-cab display is used for measuring load capacity efficiency to within 1-3% of full rated load and costs an order of magnitude less then traditional load cell based on-board vehicle weighing techniques. More importantly, the sensor system does not require truck body removal for installation and certification, and can be installed in under 45 minutes—virtually eliminating truck outfitting down time.
